If we’ve had a nice relaxing morning at home, my daughter just has to get out for a while. She loves nothing more than to be outside running and exploring. Shane’s Inspiration is a playground in Griffith Park, designed for kids of all abilities. The playground is accessible for kids with disabilities, and the equipment is designed to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. The playground includes swings, slides, and a sensory garden. There are also picnic tables nearby, making it a great spot for a family picnic.
Lake Balboa Park Playground
Lake Balboa Park is located in the San Fernando Valley and is perfect for kids of all ages. The playground includes climbing structures, lots of swings, and slides. There is a smaller area for younger children and a bigger area for the bigger kids. There is also a sand pit area, and picnic tables nearby, making it a great spot for a family day out. After a little lunch you can head over to the duck boats for a boat ride in the lake!

A friend actually recommended this spot to me, and we always have a lot of fun there. I can grab a coffee to enjoy while my daughter plays. In the summer months there is also a nice ocean breeze in this spot. The Playground, designed by nonprofit Shane’s Inspiration, is programmed to be accessible and inclusive for all children to play. This playground includes safe, state-of-the-art, sensory-rich structures that also encourage healing in children with developmental disabilities. The playground features a fire truck, police car and Malibu lifeguard stand.
Coldwater Canyon Park Playground
Coldwater Canyon Park Playground is located in Beverly Hills and is perfect for kids of all ages. The playground includes climbing structures, swings, and slides. It’s also a great place to hold birthday parties.
Lake Hollywood Park Playground
Lake Hollywood Park Playground is located in Hollywood and is perfect for younger kids. The playground includes a sandpit, swings, and climbing structures. The playground is shaded, with tables nearby to enjoy some lunch. You can even see the “Hollywood” sign clearly from there.
Costanso Fire Station 84 Park
Located in Woodland Hills, this fire engine park is gated and really fun for the younger kids to spend an hour or so. The park is shaded which is great in the heat of the summer months. There are slides, swings and a little bridge. Although this park is quite small it’s always a fun time for the kids.
Oak Park Splash Pad
This park located in Agoura Hills is wonderful in the summer months. The children have a blast in the splash pad area and can then hop over to the playground to slide and swing and back again! Bring a picnic blanket to lay on the ground and enjoy a nice picnic while the kids have fun for hours! This spot is great for smaller children right through to bigger children.
